The Bicycle Ordinance Needed.

The action of the city council in introducing an ordinance to forbid all bicycle riding on the sidewalks was a necessary and commendible aci. So many people have shamefully abused the privilege of riding on the walks that there is no other course left, consistent with the safety of our people, especially the little children, but to forbid the practice, entirely. Already several persons have been run into by criminally reckless riders, and knocked down and more or less injured. And not a day passes but that some one is likqly to be very badly injured or even killed. The ordinance is right and necessary and should be strictly enforced.
