The Brook County Seat Vote Was Light.

The election in Newton county Tuesday, on the question of changing the county seat to Brook, was light, the total vote falling over 400 short of what was cast in June, when Morocco was a candidate. Of course Brook failed by a long ways of getting the necessary 05 per cent., just as every other proposition will fail under the swindling law fixed up by the Kentland gang for the purpose of defeating and discouraging any attempt to relocate the county seat. The following is the vote by townships, for and against removal to Brook. Percent, for removal 52 1-5. Total vote cast, 2539. The total vote cast in June, when Morocco was the candidate, was 2970, a falling off of 431 votes. Morocco’s majority then was 72, or only a small fraction over 50 per cent.
