Bank Robbery at Brook.
Wednesday night burglars forced an entrance into Bennett Lyons’ bank at Brook, by prying open the back door. They then pried, the vault door open with a jimmy and secured $420 in silver, belonging to the bank, and S2BO wqrth of postage stamps, belonging to Postmaster Jones. The silver and stamps were inside the vault but not in the safe, where the bulk of the bank’s money was. The theives then stole two horses and two single buggies and drove to Sheldon, Hl., where they got on the cars and escaped, leaving the stolen horses tied to posts. They do npt appear to have made any attempt to open the safe in the vault, which held the bulk of the bank’s cash.
