B. P. Davisson of Goodland, was the guest oT his brother, Geo. Davisson from Saturday until Monday, Regular monthly temperance meeting at the Christian church next Sunday evening. Everybody invited. Mrs. Hettie Kessler is visiting Mrs. Reese Dunn at DeMottet this week. Dr. Proudly has moved into his new office, two doors east of the post office. Frank Nelson of Comer was the guest of his brother, P. W. Nelson and family over Sunday. Miss Nora Gilmore left Monday for a two weeks’ visit to her .sister, at Ancona, 111. Mr. and Mrs. John Talbot of Illinois spent a few days iast weeks’ with R. H. Dodge and family,- They returned home Monday morning. Don't forget the excursion, to Chicago, next Sunday, 16. Only 75 cents round trip. Plenty of room for everybody. Mrs. Isabelle Fox has moved In-re from Rensselaer and is occupying Mrs. Cottingham’s house. Her son Jesse, will teach school here, this winter, Mrs. Wm. Gwin and daughter Miss Lucy Hayes Gwin, of near Rensselaer, are visiting her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mundon and other relatives.
Z. T. Erwin and Wm. Pancake, of East Palestine, Ohio, returned home Monday, from a few days’ visit to their cousin, Geo. Davisson and other relatives. Young people from here attended dances at Parr and Rose Lawn, last Saturday night and report a good time. Rev. Shuey of Valparaiso, evangel's t ofthe Second District preached at the Christian church four evenings last week. He expects to hold a series of revival meetings here some time this winter. Mr. Fred Jennings and daughter Freddie of Brookston, spent a few days last week with her brother, W. H. Cottingham and family. Mr. Jennings came up Sunday and accompanied, them home in the evening. The C. &E. I. Ry. will run a cheap excursion next Wednesday, Sept. 19, from Veedersburg to Michigan City. Round trip from Fair Oaks only sl. Train leaves here at 8:42 a. m. and returning leaves Michigan City at 6 p. j.v. Everybody go and have a good time.
