John Doe Parts With His Dough.
A rather fat man and a rather thin woman struck town Tuesday morning and began selling by raffle some oddly made goods, such as stands etc., mhde of ropes. They prospered greatly until the sheriff swooped down on them with a bench warrant? issued by Judge Thompson. They were charged with the illegal offense of raffling. They were arrested and arraigned under the names of John and Mary Doe. The charge was • dismissed as to Mary Doe, but John, on the plea of guilty was fined $lO and oosts.
