Methodist Ministers Appointed.

The N. W. Indiana Methodist Episcopal conference, at their meeting at Lafayette, just closed, changed the ministers about just about as freely as they did before the time limit was abolished. Rev. H. M. Middleton, pastor at Rensselaer for the past three years, is sent to our neighboring town, of Remington. An appointment practically of the same rank as Rensselaer, with the same salary, S9OO per year and a parsonage. Rev. C. D. Royse formerly of Clinton, in the Greoncastle district, is appointed to Rensselaer. W. A. Mathews, of Remington, succeeds Mr. Royse, at Clinton. In Barkley circuit Rev. H. 8 Kester, who goes to lowa, is succeeded by Rev. D. L. Chivington, a young minister formerly assistant pastor at Monon. At Mount Ayr A. W. Smith is returned. Dr. Samuel Beck remains presiding elder of Valparaiso district. The appointments for that district, besides those above mentioned, are as follows: Brook. J W. Zaring. Chesterton, A. L. Umpleby.
