John Goff Has Gone Off.

John Goff, the man from Rose Lawn who has been held in our jail since June 21st. was re leased from confinement last Wednesday afternoon, by Judge Thompson, dn habeas corpus proceedings. The grounds were lack of jurisdiction of the justice, and irregularity of the commitment papers. Goff shot at Mike Lawler two times on June 19, while ugly drunk. It is understood that Mr. Lawler is now willing for Goff to be released. W. H. Parkison was attorney for Goff and J. W. Douphit represented the state. Goff lost no time in getting to the depot, and took the 3:30 train north.» By this time, presumably he is again basking in the comprehensive smiles of his faithful Rose Lawn widow, He stated that his home is at Breckly, Ark.’, and that he thought of returning to that place.
