To Bore Close To Town.

Another attempt to find oil or gas near Rensselaer is to be made, now. A drilling outfit arrived by the overland route, from Medaryville, Friday evening, and has now been set up on the ThompsonLawler farm, just east of town, the former Elmira fylonnett land. The drill is located close to the railroad, and about 1£ miles- due east of town. The St. Joseph company is doing the drilling. It is said they have about 4,000 acres leased in this vioinity and will bore often enough and jleep enough to fully determine whether there is an oil field on their holdings or not. The drill began work Monday.
