Mrs. N. J. Burgett bought a tine carriage lest week of Worland Bros, of BeuSselaer. James and Zeb Swaiiu have taken a contract for grading work on the Gifford railroad. Friends and neighbors to the number of ‘IOO gathered at the home of Mrs. Cassie Steel and gave her a surprise in honor of her 40th birthday. All came with well filled basket and enjoyed a pleasant time. Mrs. Steve Williams is improving very slowly from her long sickness. /John Renicker is bulling a large barn and packing house combined. James Longstreth is doing the .work. Steve Williams is working for Moyer & Renicker on tire Poplar Grove fruit farm Mr. and Mrs, William Hurley, ol Fair Oaks, were the guests of Mrs. N. J, Burger’t one day last week. Mr. Ike Sidle.y. and his father from Grant county were over to visit the Poplar Glove fruit farm. Henry Brovont,’ of Carroll county, is.working for W. G. Renicker. The boys that went west from Xubin Ridge have all returned, they can not stay away long at a time. The Dunkards held their quarterly meeting Saturday conducted by Rev. Abraham Miller, of Wheatfield.
