Landis at Fountain Park.
Hon. C. B. Landis of Delphi, member of Congress from the 9:h district, gave his great lecture, entitled “General Grant” at Fountain Park, Wednesday afternoon There was a very large audience, especially for a day time lecture. Mr. Landis has made a study of of General Grant’s career, and is a most enthusiastic admirer of the great general. The lecture was greatly appreciated by the audience. In the evening Mr. Landis drove to Rensselaer and took the 11.04 train to Delphi. He was accompanied by his little son, Johnny. It was nearly 10 o’clock when he arrived here, but word of his intended coming having been received, quite a number of his friends called on him, at the Makeever House. Mr. Landis is again the candidate of his party in his district, and will doubtless be elected, although the district is ordinarily very close.
