Hignwaymen Gone Out of Business.

A certain druggist bad occason to patronize his own shop for arnica the other night, and this is how it came about He and the I frolicsome father of a certain | young lady thought they would j have some fun with an equally certain young doctor, as the afore- j said doctor was on his way back upjtown, after escorting the young lady home. They laid for the M, D. with their coats over their ljeads, and as he went past, grabbed him and in true highwaymen tonee.nianded “■ 1 1 is money or his life.” But the M. D. jerked aw r ay from them, and with . his ever-ut-hand medicine case and surgical tool box,, be gave the druggist a - a mighty pelt on the arm. Thus demonstrating, for the first time, perhaps, in the history of the profession, that a doctor’s medicine case could make contusions quicker than it could cure them. The “highwaymen” made haste to explain, not knowing how many more such shots the case was loaded with; and now they have retired from the highwaymen business, [entirely. They knew when they i had got enough.
