Big Job For Recorder.
County Recorder Porter received tlje biggest batch of documents at one time, in' the history of the office, yesterday; They came by mail, from Chicago, and are the instruments representing the biggest single financial transaction, wholly confined to Jasper County property, ever consummated. There were 120 instruments in the lot, 40 of which were oil leases and 80 assignments of such leases. They represent the sale, by the Inter State Oil Co., to the Byrd Syndicate, of all the former’s interests in this county, which sale was consummated several months ago, and the price of which was $157,000, cash. The recorder’s fees for the lot is $79 75 and the revenue tax was 1$ for each instrument, or $l2O in all.
