More Fish Law.
Some misunderstanding as to the closed seasons under the fish law seems to have arisen. In response to an inquiry, Z. T. Sweeney, fish commissioner, writes that section 4 of the law makes an absolute closed season during May and June in all streams ofjjthe state and a closed season in all other waters of the state from the first of January to the first of April and from the first of May until the first of July, except with hook and line. The law permits, says Mr. Sweeney, hook and line fishing in streams from July first to the following May first, and it permits it in lakes at all times.|Mr. Sweeney says that in this view of the law he is supported by the attorney general.
