The Petition is Ready.

The petitions asking the commissioners to order elections in Marion and Carpenter Townships to vote aid for the Gifford railroad will be presented at the coming May session of the County Commissioners, which begins on Monday, May 7th. The circulating of the petition for Marion tp. began here late Thursday afternoon. Almost every man requested signed it, unhesitatingly, and before noon today, it contained 140 signatures of voters and freeholders. It was thought desirable to and which number was very quickly and easily obtained. These who circulated the paper report the sentiment in favor of the road ; as practically unanimous,,
