Alf Donnelly, who knows more about raising onions than the man •who first invented them, hasn’t begun to plant this year’s crop yet. Up on Gifford they planted half of their acreage before winter was over, and are sorry they didn’t get them all planted. Not so Mr. Donnelly. He planted k's last year “two weeks after the Giffordites, and ripened liis crop two weeks earlier. Alt' has made the raising and preserving and marketing of onions his daily study and his nightly meditation for the past five years, and although he modestly declares that he don’t know ns much about onions now as he thought he knew five years’ago, lie still in our judgement knows so much more about them than anybody else in this region, that he might well fill the chair of head professor of onionology in any agricultural college in the country. He will plant about Id-acres this year, which is_three acres more than ever before. He takes great pains, especially, in procuring the best seed and received his supply for this season, Thursday;
