The Kentland Enterprise Admires Its Bullies.

Elmer Bringham endeared himself to the delegates by hie powerful and effectual support of their rights. His arguments were unanswerable and produced the desired result, namely, silence. We nominate Elmer Bringham for sergeant-at-arms of the National con ven tion. If an unruly de legate gets too frisky we will guarantee quick and proper solution of the difficulty with Elmer holding the mace of authority. - Kentland Enterprise. The plain meaning of which is that Bringham was the head of the band of stinkers the Kentland gang organized to intimidate] with threats and personal violence the Coover men who dared to j demand decent treatment and honest methods at the Good laud sena-1 torial convention. Possibly Bringham was the very “big red-headed ruffian - ’ that, threatened to “smash” John O’Conner, of Kniman, and did intimidate the old and dignified delegates from Morocco. Such bullies are always right in their eleujent when little or old men are to be frightened out of asserting their rights. In Mr. O’Conner’s case, however, though little, he is brave, and he defied the big red-headed braggart and ,the latter backed down.
