CANNOT BURN CHINATOWN.
Danger to Adjoining Property Deter* San Francisco Authorities. The .San Francisco papers now admit that bubonic plague exists there. The health board announces that it will continue n daily inspection and cleansing of Chinatown for thirteen days. A suspicious death is said to have occurred in Waverley place, Chinatown, Thursday, hut 5 before the inspector reached the house the body liad been spirited away and concealed, the friends of the dead man evidently fearing an autopsy. President Williams of the hoard of health says some of the buildings in Chinatown are in such bad condition (that nothing short of fire could , eradicate germs if they exist there. The move, however, is uot now contemplated, as such a measure would greatly endanger the city, Chinatown being located in the heart of the downtown district.
