Church Burned at Lafayette.
St.. Paul’s Methodist Church, at the corner of Tippecanoe and Twelfth streets, one of the finest houses of worship in northern Indiana, was burned last Sunday morning. Flames were discovered about 9 o’clock and in two hours the building was in ruins. It is supposed the fire started from an overheated furnace. The building was almost new, having been dedicated about five years ago. The loss is about $45,000, with $16,000 insurance. The church had an indebtedness of $22,000.
