Death of a Former Resident

Mrs. MuitbaD. Heudly, wife of Charles S. Headley, died Thursday, March &th at her home in South Bend of diabetis, after a sickness of fivejmonths. Her age was 43 years and 5 mouths. Her maiden name Mas Alter and she was born on the old Alter homestead, in Carpenter tp., and lived there all her life, until 6 years ago when she moved to South Bend with her husband. Hejsurvives her, as does, also their only child, a girl of 14. She was a sister of Lewis S. Alter, of Carpenter tp., our former county surveyor, aud who attended the funeral at South Bend, last Suuday. She leaves two other brothers, in Oklahoma and a sister in Illinois.
