Obituary.

Minerva A. Faris was born in sFleming Co., Kentucky, on the 29th day of March J. 815 and died in Rensselaer, Ind., on March the 9th, 1900, aged 84 years 11 months and 9 days. She moved from her native state to Indianapolis, Ind., when she was 12 years old and later to Warren C 9., where she resided until the vear 1843, when she came to what is now Newton Co. She was united in marriage to Wallis J. Wright on March 12th, 1845, and on the following day moved to Rensselaer where she lias since continuously resided. To them were born 5 children, Charles P. t * Truitt P., Mary M , Martha M , and' Sarah E. The two latter dying some years ago. She endured the hardships and trials of pioneer days and lived to see a little village of live or six houses grow to that of a modern city. She united with the M. E. church at the age of 10 years and for 75 years has been a consistent member. She was an indulgent mother, a kind neighbor, and a woman universally esteemed. She. died on the spot where she lived in her early married life and a place that was made sacred to her by the sad memories of the past. Her funeral was held Sunday March 11th, at 1:30 p. m., at the residence, by Rev. H. M. Middleton, pastor of Trinity M. E. church. Interment was in Weston cemetery.
