The Stars Still Shine.
Bat They Narrowly Escaped Eclipsing, Last Friday Night. The All Star bowling team won the victory over our bowlers, Friday night, but they iiad no very great margin to go on. Three match games were played with Rensselaer in the evening. Rensselaer won the first game the score being Rensselaer 833, Stars 821. The Stars won the second and third games. The score of the second game was 1011 to 792; of the third game, 840 to 779. The Stars’ score of 1011 in the second game was only the sixth time they have scored 1000 or more this season. The Star players were Thompson Martin, Kern, Gebbard, Eddie Wass. Geo. Kuppinger, and Harry Criss. They have played in Cincinnati, Columbus and Indianapolis and say that Rensselaer has the best bowling alley they have seen, any place. After the principal game Eddie Wass and Bert Hopkins had a light weight match, in which two games were played and Wass won, the totals being 319 for Hopkins and 321 for Wass. Rensselaer’s players were Hopkins, Mills, McCord, Robinson and Jones. Lewis was not present. McCord made the big record for Rensselaer, with 210 best score and 187| average. Kern was best for the Stars, with 225 highest score and 198 average. About 200 people witnessed the evening games. •
