McCord Is a Ma vel.

He Sets a New Bow ing Record For Hi s State. A few weeks ago Joe Lewis made a score of 280 at the Rensselaer bowling alleys, making the best record for the season of 1900, so fur as had been reported in the daily papers. That record still stood unsurpassed, with one exception until Tuesday night, when another Rensselaer player equalled it and and went ten better. This marvellous score of 290 was made by Win. McCord, one of the managers of the alleys. He first made a spure and then eleven straight strikes. This gave him a score of 290, which lacks but ten of the highest that can possibly be made, under the rules of the game. This score of 300, by the way, was very recently made in Chicago by Kern, one of the All Star team, which is coming here today. Twelve straight strikes counts 300, and these Mr. McCord really made, for after the game was finished . he immediately rolled again, and made another strike. That, however could not be counted. The team selected to battle with the All Stars Friday, are Robertson, Bert Hopkins, Mills, MoCord and Lewis. If they play in their best forms they will make it mighty interesting for those all picked bowlers of all, creation.
