Obituary.
Miss Mary A. Burns, oldest of Josiah and Ruth Burns was born in White Co., Indiana Au?. 6. 1848. Was married to B. Gilmore April 11, 1869. To them were born 11 children, of which 4 are dead and 7 living. She dfed at her home near Surrey Feb. 16, 1900 at 9 o’clock p. m. She was ailing for several months with dropsical-pneumonia, although her suffering ■ for several weeks was very great, she bore it without a murmur. Her death fills the hearts of husband and children and other relatives with deepest sorrow, but all take consolation in meeting her in glory. At 16 years of age she united with the M. E. church and remained until about the year 1890 at which time she transferred to the Christian denomination, and was a faithful, consistant Christian all through life. The funeral was held Sunday Feb 18th, at the United Brethren church, several miles north of Rensselaer, attended by a very large number of relatives and friends. Rev. E. L. Pierson officiating. Burial took place at the Prater cemetry.
