Bruce \Moffit did business in WbeStfiefd, Monday. Chalmers Fry is working in Rose Lawn this week. Jack Kight spent several days in Chicago this week. Tom Joyner, of Chicago, came down to attend the funeral of his father-in-law, James Halleck. Archie Nelson returned to his home at Brookston Monday, after a month’s visit to friends and relatives in and near town. I. S. Wade, of Lafayette, gave one of his popular temperance lectures at the M. E. church last Saturday evening to a well pleased audience. A jolly crowd of young people attended a social hop at Mart Burton’s nine miles in the country last Saturday night and report a good time. Frank Hooper, who has been working for Dan Lakin, near Blackford, has returned home. John G. Liggett has returned to Fair Oaks after a two months’ stay in Chicago and other points in Illinois. Jennie McConnell and Frances Brady retnrned to Chicago Sunday, after a month’s visit with friends and relatives. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hurley on Wednesday morn, ing, of last week, but only a few hours. The funeral was held Thursday at the house. Interment in Fair Oaks cemetry. Mr. L. W. McMurtyr, of Monon, has taken temporarily charge of the Monon section at this place, N. A. McKay having resigned.. „ Rev. Skinner opened a series of revival meetings at the M. E. church last Monday evening to a fair audience, and will continue them several weeks.
