New Plan of Commencement.

The Rensselaer school board has decided to adopt the new plan of commencement exercises for our schools this year. The publio commencement exercises instead of CQnsistipg mainly of the themes of the graduates, will consist mainly of an address or lecture by some eminent speaker or educator, from abroad. The themes of the graduates will not be delivered in public at all, but will be prepared and submitted to the teachers and school board. The baccalaureate services and sermon will be entirely dispensed with. The plan of having an address by some eminent person in lieu of the graduates’ themes has been growing into general favor for some years past and seems to be entirely satisfactory.
