Their Golden Wedding Day
Last Friday, February 2nd, was the golden wedding, the 50th anniversary of our much respected townspeople, Caspar and Barbara Eiglesbach. The relatives had hoped to observe the event by quite a oelebration, but the poor health of the old people prevented,— Uncle Casper being confined to his bed, and Aunt Barbara far well. Anniversary high mass was celebrated in their honor, at St. Augustine s Catholic church, that morning, but neither were able to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Eiglesbach were both 77 years old, on there last birthdays. They were born and married in Germany, and after marriage lived there 11 years. They came to this country in 1861. Lived in Ohio 11 years and then on a farm 1 mile west of Rensselaer for 11 more years. The other 17 years of their married life they have lived in Rensselaer.
