Protect the Gravel Roads.

There is a law regulating the use and abuse of gravel roads and the various supervisors of our public through fares should pay special attention to the duties of their office during the spring of the year, or at any time when by reason of rains or thaws the ground is soft. If a few persons were prosecuted for hauling heavy loads and thereby cutting up the roads the public generally would have some regard for the preservation of that which costs large sums of money and much labor to prepare. Some persons seem to have no interest or consideration for public property and those are the very ones that need to be looked after. The abuse of the roads is not only an expense to the taxpayers but a great inconvenience and displeasure to those who assisted in building and maintaining them for their convenience.
