Mary Gilmore, wife of Charles Gilmore of DeMotte died Jan. 2nd. 1900. Burial Thursday at 3 o’clock r Sand Ridge grave yard. Henry Steel has moved into the Charles Campbell house. Uncle Abe and Bill Campbell, of Rensselaer have bought the Dave Gasoway property and have moved into the same. The gravel road that was begun sometime ago running east of Aix was completed Wednesday. Built by donations. 700 yards of gravel was used. Rev. Rohrig is holding a series of meeting at Independance school house. The box supper at Brushwood school house Saturday night was well attended. Proceeds SIO.OO. The little daughter of James Wiseman of Aix had a narrow escape one day last week by her clothes getting on firs, Mrs. Wiseman had her hands badly burned in saving the child.
