The Salisbury Orchestra.
The Salisbury Orchestra concert under the direction of Len. H. Salisbury at the Opera House Wed evening attracted a very large audience. It certainly is one of the very best entertainments, in this line, ever given here. All lovers of music were well satisfied with their program and the way it was rendered. Their Orchestra consists of three violins, two bassviols, clairnet, flute, cornet, slide trombone, drums and other devices to give the desired effect. The overture “William Tell” the description Fantasie “In the Clock Store,” “The Capture of Santiago,” were excellently rendered. The imitations were so effective that the storm in tAe first seemed a reality, and in the next you couldplainly hear the ticking of the different clocks, the playing of the chimes etc. The last represented the whole course of the soldiers from their start at Tampa Bay to the Capture of Santiago. Abby Rose Wood, soprano, was the only lady with the orchestra, and her songs are very pleasing and greatly appreciated by all.
