Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 21, Number 26, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 22 December 1899 — The House Committees. [ARTICLE]
The House Committees.
The Speaker Henderson has appointed the standing committees for the house. He made no great changes from the old committees and as befor* Congressman Faris is the only Indiana man having a chairmanship, he retaining his old place at the head of the committee on manufactures. Congressman Crumpacker is placed on the new and very important Insular committee, which is considered a very high honor. He also is on the Census committee. Congressman Landis is also specially favored by an assignment to foreign relations, a much coveted place. He is also on civil service and elections. We think he is the only Indiana man on three committees.
