The box supper at Burnstown school house Saturday night, was well attended, considering the weather. Proceeds $16.85. Rev. Daniel Yoedar, of Carroll county, preached at the Dunkard church Sunday morning. Rev. John Stoner, of Mexico, preached Sunday night. Good order and good attendance. Mrs. Levi Renicker, of East Barkley, is recovering very slowly. Farmers are all through husking corn on the stalk, but some have chock corn to husk yet. Hunting birds and rabbits is the ord«»r of the day around the vicinity wf Blackford. Charley Hopkins, of East Barkley, and his best girl were out to church Sunday. Charley come again, Ancil Hilton, while out hunting caught 4 large opossums and sold them to our merchant, T. Hurley of Blackford. James Snider while out hunting caught 2 large coons. Say they were fine, one a black one. Jim is a good coon hunter. Our merchant of Blockford buys from 100 to 200 rabbits a day, we see him take 4 and 5 barrels of rabbits and dressed poultry to Rensselaer every day for the last week to ship to Chicago. Crist. Morgan hss rented the Geo. McElfresh farm and will move onto the same as soon as posession is given. Al McCurtain is the champion bird hunter around our town. He killed 18 birds at two shots.
