Death of Frank W. Babcock.
The not unexpected intelligence was received here by telegram Tuesday evening, of the death, at his home at 467 Fullerton Avenue Chicago, of Frank W. Babcock, a former prominent and greatly esteemed resident of our city. He had been in poor health a long time, from a- cancer of the liver. His death occurred atl:sop. m. Tuesday, Dec. 12th 1899. He was a captain in an Illinois cavalry regiment during the civil war, and at the close of the war settled in this county, and was elected county auditor. Following his term of office, be practiced law here for many years, and since his removal has lived at Lagrange, this state, Canton, Ohio, and Chicago, 111. He was an early member of Rensselaer Post Grand Army of the Republic and during the past summer was reinstated as a member, making the special request that this post should bury him, at his death, which he then anticipated. The funeral will be held here, Thursday, at the Church of God, at 2 o’clock p. m. or as soon thereafter as the, arrival of the train due here at 1:45 p. m. will permit. The G. A. R. will meet the remains, at the depot, at that time, and proceed directly to the church.
