A Gathering of the Grants.
There was quite a notable family dinner party at Uncle Norm Warner’s on Thanksgiving day. Eight brothers and sisters of the Grant family were present, and also such of their various life partners as were still spared to them, their names, ages and weights, are here given: James Grant, age 78, weight 143. - Thomas Grant, age 77, weight 181. Hannah his wife, age 83, weight, 103. , W. S. Grant, age 74, weight 153. Viney, his wife, age 71, weight 135. F. M. Grant, age 73, weight 160. Phebe his wife, age 60, weight 132. - Mrs. Ruth A. Phillips, age 71, weight 150. Mrs. Josephine M. Warner, age 63, weight 163. “Uncle Norm” her husband, age 66, weight 183.
Alton Grant, age 60, weight IfML Margaret, his wife, age 55, weight 100. ; < Shelby Grant, age 56, weight 180. paroline, his wife, age 5# weight 105. The average ages of the 9 brothers and sisters is 69 yean. The average ages of all the women, including the two sisters is 65 years. In regard to the weights given, does not state whether they were taken before turkey or afterwards,an element Much might very materially affect the results (Especially in Shelby’s case.) This Grant family has not only been long on earth, but also are quite old timers in Jasper county* having come here in 1855.
