Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 21, Number 21, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 5 December 1899 — Janitor Joyner Jumps His Job. [ARTICLE]
Janitor Joyner Jumps His Job.
Thos. J. Joyner, janitor of the new court house ever since its completion, and a mighty good and efficient one when at his right self, took the train Sunday morning, and, it is understood, with no intention of returning to his situation here. It is stated that he had a place offered him as a fireman in some establishment in Chicago. It has been ,a matter of general knowlege for some time past that a change must be made in the janitorship, and it is probable that by his leaving he only saved himself from a dismissal. Before leaving Mr. Joyner turned over the court house keys to Thomas Jordan, an old experienced engineer, and he is now in charge at the- court house until the commissioners now in session, can make permanent arrangements for a janitor.
