A Young Mother’s Sudden Death.
Mrs. Alev Landis, wife of Howard Landis, died suddenly at Delphi, Saturday night. She had been feeling unusually well and lively during the day and evening, but about 10 o’clock awoke her husband and requested him to raise her up, she seeming unable to breathe. He raised her to a sitting posture in bed, but had only done so when she sank into his arms and immediately expired. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hane Potts, of Pleasant Ridge. Her husband formerly lived a few miles east of town with his father George Landis. Her age was only about 22 years. She was married Jan. 22, 1896. She leaves a daughter about 18 months old. A son was also born to her, but it died when about 1 year old, and was buried here. The remains were brought here for burial, on the 9:55 a. m., train. Monday, and the funeral was held immediately aftqr the train’s arrival, at the Christian church. The services were conducted by Rev. J. L. Brady; the same minister who performed her marriage ceremony less than four years ago. Interment was in Weston cemetery.
