Diphteria at Lafayette.

According to the Journal the prevalence of diphteria in Lafayette while by no means a new thing has grown to such an extent that it was deemed advisable Monday to call a meeting to consider the matter. At this meeting the present condition was thorough discussed and it was decided to establish a rigid quarantine, thorough disinfection, a general use-of antitoxin and the inspection of school children at frequent intervals by physicians. It was decided that the schools would not have to be closed at present anyway.
