Diphtheria at Lowell.

The town of Lowell is under the ban of strict quarentine, owing to the appearance of diptheria in a virulent form. A half dozen cases and one death occurred during the last few days. The public schools churches and all gatherings of a poblic nature are forbidden for an indefinite period.
