Mr. Peacock, of Rensselaer, was in this vicinity on business. Miss Kittie Callahan did shopping in Wheatfield Monday and Tuesday. Cards are out announcing the . marriage of Miss Minnie Funk to Mr, Arthur Meckling on Nov. 30, 1899. . Logan Wood, of Parr, and A. M. Hunters, of Judyville, were in this vicinity looking up trade one day last week. There will be a necktie social at Eagle Center school Friday night. Everybody invited. Herman Ahlers did business in Rensselaer Saturday. John Schwind went to Lafayette Friday to visit his parents. Mr. Perkins, of Rensselaer, is digging wells at Comer, he has contracted for 3. Mr. and Mrs. John Carlin, of Parr, visited O. Callahan and family Monday.

The box supper at North Lawn given for the benefit of the school library Saturday night, was a success in every way. Miss Ada Rife secured the prize for the most popular young lady, “a dress patern” Walter Jones “a pair of socks” for largest feet. Taylor Hawkins “a pair of ear muffs” for having the biggest ears. Bidding was brisk and the boxes went high. Net proceeds $37.60.
