Iron in Elba.

The little Island of Elba, once celebrated as the temporary abiding place of the great Napoleon, has recently come into prominence in a new way. Years ago deposits of iron were discovered on the island, bat the mines were never worked. Now, where once Napoleon .reigned in solitary state, great smelters and machine shops have been set up and the whole island Is alive with the hum of Industry.
