About AEtna Power Works.
Notwithstanding the numerous explosions at ./Etna, there has been but eight lives lost since the powder works were started there twenty-one years ago, says the Chesterton Tribune. Considering the large foroe constantly employed, upwards of 200 people, this is a remarkable record. A laughable incident happened a few days ago when the company destroyed a lot of waste material which was heavily charged with nitro-glyoerine. The stuff was taken out to a marsh, some distance from the works, and exploded. Bill Heiden one of the men employed by Contraotor Ameling, thought the place was going np again, and he dropped off the roof of a building and never stopped running until he reaohed Miller Station. Then he wanted to know how many people were killed.
