Public Library Matters.
The directors of the Jasper Public Library held a meeting Saturday evening. A new committee was appointed to arrange for public entertainments every month, throughout the winter. The committee is made up of the following: S. P. Thompson, Mrs. Ora Ross, Mrs. Amanda Warren, D. B. Nowels and W, B. Austin. The committee that was appointed to ask the county council for an appropriation reported that that body had appropriated >2O for the use of the library, during the ensuing fiscal year. It is understood that the Rensselaer city council will levy a tax of 3 tenths of a mill, for the use of the library. This tax will yield from >BOO to |350 per year.
