Makeever House Improvements.

Uncle John Makeever is making a thorough job of watering the Makeever House, now that he has concluded (to do it at all. The improvements will include wash stands in many of the rooms, and elaborate system of closets, bath rooms etc. The cost of installing the system, and not including the tubs, is to be $483. And right here, may be mentioned a little circumstance which Unde Alf McCoy is citing as a sure and conducive proof that McKinleys prosperity has come fur sure. The original estimate of the cost of the work, as prepared by W. H. Eger, who has the contract was $482.50. Uncle John studied the figures a while, and then told Bill to just strike off that final 50 cents and go ahead with the work. This Bill said he couldn’t do. “Then” says Unde John “If you wont take off the 50 cents just add 50 cents more and make it $483, and go ahead with the work.”
