Death of Fred Bowman.

Fred Bowman, who has been sick with consumption for a long time, and who returned a few weeks ago from a summer’s unavailing stay in Colorado, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Mattie E. Henkle, in the east part of town, bn Thursday morning, Oct. 19, at 7 o’clock. Fred was born in Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 30th, 1878, but has spent most of his life in Rensselaer or its immediate vicinity. His age was 20 years, 11 months and 11 days. His father, Henry Bowman, has been dead many years. His mother survives him and two brothers and one sister, William in Wyoming, Sanford in Colorado and Mrs. Cora North in Wichita, Kansas. His is the sixth of his most sadly afflicted mother’s children who have died, and with this same dread disease, consumption. And of these six deaths three have occurred this year, namely Mrs. Florence Sayler, Grace and Fred. The funeral will be held at the Christian church, Friday, at 10 a. m., by the pastor, Rev. Ward,
