A decision was rendered favoring the Hammond people and against the Crown Point petitioners. f The suit was against the Lake county commissioners to prevent them from erecting a court house at Hammond for the superior court and incidentally to test the constitutionality of the superior court act has been on trial at Crown Point all the week. Judge Hammond, of Lafayette, formerly of Rensselaer, and once on the supreme bench of the state, heard the case.
