Uncle Mac’s Big Sale.
Last Saturday's sale at McCoys, burg, beat the record. 737 head of cattle were sold, and the aggregate amount of the sale was $19,100 Most of the cattle were sold to Jasper county people, though some went to Newton county and some to White and some to LakeThe baby show which was a feature of this sale, was a success. Eight fine thorough bred babies were exhibited, and every indiviual mother thereof was presented with a handsome dress pattern. Mrs. Wm. Arnott was adjudged to be the mother of the finest baby and got first choice of .dresses E. P. Honan made the presentation speeches for the dresses, and in a very sentimental manner. For music at this sale there were Uncle Mao’s Sweet Singers of Israel his Sheepskin band and the College band, —also the babies. The Rensselaer contingent, some 40 or more in number, had a night of it getting home. The 6.30 train refused to stop, and a coach was pnt on the stock train. Bnt that did not get to McCoysbnrg until nearly midnight and was two hours getting from there to Rensselaer.
