A Foot Ball Team.

A preliminary meeting to organize a team for the foot ball season of 1899 was held Monday evening, at Fendig’s drug store. Geo. E. Murray was elected manager for the season and B. F. Fendig assistant manager and Bert Hopkins secretary and treasurer. It will be an all home team, with about the same players as last year, although the line up has not yet been definitely decided on. The probable members are practicing every day, however, and the practice work shows that there is every prospect of Rensselaer’s having a winning team again. A new and valuable feature of the practice work this year will be facilities for giving the boys cold shower baths and rub downs after their exercise. The old laundry building, on Front street, has been secured for the purpose. A number of good games have been strung already.
