The City Council.
The street committee was authorized to purchase of Yeoman & Woodworth sufficient crushed rock to repair the streets, under the marshal’s supervision. The price is SI.OO per yard at the crusher. A long stretch of cement walk is ordered on Franklin street. The suit of Mrs. Rosa Seib to quiet title to about 450 feet of the south end of Scott street was brought to the attention of the attention of the council. It was decided not to make any fight in behalf of the city. The contract for Plum street sewer was let to Charles Platt, at 15 cents per lineal foot, and $5 for catch basins. J. H. Jessen’s bid was 20 cts. per foot, and $5 for catch basins. The opera house license tax was remitted. The city attorney was directed to bring proceedings to condemn, for cemetery purposes, a tract of 'land adjoining Weston cemetery, on the west belonging to Thos. H. Robinson. Tax levies for the ensuing tax year, were fixed at the following cents on the SIOO assessed valuation. Corporation tax 25 cents road tax 15 cents, sinking fund 5 cents, special, additional 16 cts, water works 15 cents, electric lights 10 cents, county library 3 cents, school library 1 cent, tuition fund 35 cents, special school 40 cents. Total city tax $1.65.
