The New Money Orders.

The new form of money ,order adopted by the postoffice department will come into use as soon as the present stock of blank forms is exhausted after Sept. 4th. The new orders will be about the size and shape of a bank draft and will be more convenient to handle than the pi esent form or any of its predecessors. The amount will be indicated altogether in writing, the marginal figures at the left end being dispensed with. The advice will be nearly a duplicate of the order, being written at the same time by the use of carbon paper, only the name of the remitter being added afterwards. One advantage of the new plan will be that each purchaser of an order will receive a receipt which will serve practically as a duplicate order in case the original is lost This has never been done before and will add greatly to the popularity of the money order system. Though the safest known method of sending money, it has always lacked this element of public confidence, and the little receipt will answer the question that has been asked of postmasters for several generations—- “ Don’t I get anything to show for this?
