Obituary.
James Marvin Hodshire was born in Sparta Tp., Dearborn Co., Ind., March 23, 1834. He was married to Miss Mary Jane Fable July 4th 1859 at North Vernon, Ind. To them was born thirteen children, two of whom died in infancy. All of the eleven surviving children were with him in his last illness and were present to join in the funeral rites of their beloved father. His wife departed this life at Wolcott, Ind., May 9, 1886, When the civil war broke out he responded to his country’s call enlisting in Co. I. 37th Regiment, Ind. Vote. He served his country faithfully for over three years when he was honorably discharged. He died Aug. sl, 1899, aged 65 years, 4 months 28 days The funeral was held in the grove near his residence this morning at ten o’clock. The religious services were conducted by Rev. H. M. Middleton and interment made in Weston cemetery.
