Arrested on two Charges.
Glen Bates was arrested late yesterday afternoon in two charges The first being a charge of assault and battery upon Earl Lamson. Both gentlemen were among the excursionists to Chicago Sunday and Bates returned home on the first train while Lamson came bn the seoond’ Bates was pretty well boozed and remained at the depot until the sec3ui divisia came in. Lamson was standing on the steps of the car and before the train bad fully stopped Bates grabbed him and he lost his balance and fell between the car and the platform. Fortunatly he escaped with a few scratches but had the platform been a high one it is no doubt that his body would have beeu ground to pieces. Bates was fined on this charge $1 and eo3ts amounting in all to $13.90. The second oharge was on being drunk in"a publio place and on this he was fined 1 cent and costs ambuting to $12.91.
